Dolores  Swirczynski


Dolores was born on November 22, 1929, in Muenster, to Alois (Shorty) John Walter and Marie Catherine (Hartman) Walter. She was the oldest of six children. Dolores graduated from St. Mary's High School in Gainesville in 1947 and married Bernard Joseph 'B.J.' Swirczynski in a ceremony at Sacred
Heart Catholic Church in Muenster in 1950. Dolores and B.J. were blessed with six children: Mary Jane, Joe, Lou Ann, Dona, Marlene, and Brenda.
Dolores and B.J. began their 33-year family business, XYZ Tank Trucks, in the Muenster area, moving to Mineral Wells in 1976.
She was an avid gardener and active member of numerous garden clubs, the Fort Worth Chrysanthemum Society, a volunteer at the Fort Worth Botanical Garden, and earned the status of a National Accredited Flower Show Judge. Dolores had many interests and passions including creative
writing, reading, and horseback riding. Before her health declined, she was writing a cookbook focused on using healthy seasonal ingredients.
Dolores is survived by son: Joe Swirczynski of Mineral Wells; daughters: Lou Ann Russell of Sparks, NV, Dona Sue and husband Tegun Thomas of Hallsville, Marlene and husband Larry Moore of Santa Rosa, CA, and Brenda Swirczynski and Mark Furlow of North Richland Hills; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; sister: Jeanette and husband Bill Karr of Temple; brothers: John V and wife Sammie Walter of Dallas, Eugene Walter of Muenster, and Claude and wife Nancy Walter of Muenster.
Dolores is preceded in death by parents; Al and Marie Walter, husband; B.J. Swirczynski; daughter: Mary Jane Howard; sister: Sandra Corcoran; sisters-in-law: Marie Walter and Marilyn Walter; and brother-inlaw: Tommy Corcoran.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Muenster Public Library or Catholic Daughters of America.

My heart goes out to Dolores' children and the rest of the family. I am so sorry for your loss. You girls were wonderful caregivers to your mother and I know she will be greatly missed by all of you. Peace be upon you.

My condolences to Joe, Donna Sue, Marlene, & Brenda. Mr. & Mrs Swirczynski were always very special to me and both of them had great smiles and lot's of laughter when I was welcomed in their home. Wonderful memories of all the family.
