LONE CAMP - Leslie Edvin Reese, 98, of Lone Camp, passed away at his home on Saturday, Aug. 19, 2017.
Service for Leslie is 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 23, at Lone Camp Baptist Church. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday at Edwards Funeral Home, 215 E. Housley St., Strawn. Burial will be in Comanche, Okla.
He was born Nov. 21, 1918, in Fannin County, Texas, to Warden and Lela Teel Reese. He was a World War II, U.S. Army veteran. He retired from USS Oil Well Supply.
Leslie enjoyed growing his own vegetables, could fix a car with a can, could build a 30-foot high shed by himself and was the master of "Southern Engineering."
He loved all his family and especially enjoyed his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, many of who were named after him. He was a gentle and kind man who loved his family and friends.
Leslie is survived by a son, Jack Reese, and his wife Carol of Plano, Texas; daughter, Kay Vaughn and her husband Tommy, of Lone Camp; four grandchildren and their spouses; nine great-grandchildren and their spouses; fourteen great-great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; nine step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Warden and Lela Teel Reese; his loving wife of 56 years, Neva Mae Simmons Reese; and a grandson, Jeff Reese.
