Margaret Janice Ellis (75), of Mineral Wells, Texas, wife of Billy Joe Ellis, passed away July 26, 2019 after a short but brave battle with pancreatic cancer. Janice (Cookie) was born in Georgia on April 16, 1944, the daughter of Thomas Evans Jones and Kathleen Kiker Jones. Janice was the eldest of three children. Janice was a graduate of Mary Hardin Baylor University and was a coach and biology teacher for more than 25 years in Killeen, Lufkin, Cedar Hill, and most recently at Mineral Wells High School. Janice was an avid reader and her interests varied from Gardening to Genealogy. She is survived by her younger brother Thomas, loving husband, Billy Joe; children; Billy Paul (Cindy) of Rockdale, Robert (Pam) of Clear Lake, Mark (Judy) of Katy, and Jo Lisa Wainscott (Todd) of New Castle, WY; 11 Grandchildren, 4 Great-Grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Monday August 5, 2019, 3:00 pm at the First United Methodist Church in Mineral Wells, TX.

Donations in lieu of Flowers should be made to the Friends of the Boyce Ditto Public Library (2300 SE Martin Luther King Jr. Street, Mineral Wells, TX 76067)

oh Janice you are sorely missed. your sweet spirit lingered on this earth for a time and during that time we loved your company. you were a breath of sunshine to many people. I will always remember how sweet you were and are. God bless your family and you rest in peace till we all meet again in Jesus name.

My sincere condolences to the Ellis family. Janice had a heart of gold and sweet smile. Her laughter and sense of humor were contagious. She will be missed and remembered by many.

Janice was the best friend that anyone could want. She enriched my life and I greatly miss her. Her illness and death has been a surprise. I thought she would live forever. I pray for comfort for her family.
