So very sorry. Rick was such a pleasure to be around. He had a great sense of humor and I will always remember his warmth and smiling face. He was a great person to know and he truly was the face of Alcon. RIP

Rick's smile was the first I received each morning which started my day. I drove up to the gate with a new car he didn't recognize, stopped me, recognized who was driving, gave me a smile and a thumbs up! He was fun to joke with. My prayers to the family for their great loss. He is at the pearly gates waving the newcomers to enter with a big smile!

I had the pleasure of a good morning smile from Rick at the Alcon front gate for many years - as well as any time I had the good fortune to bump into him on campus. One morning I had forgotten my hang tag - Rick jumped right out in front of my car. Later as I considered what he did, I realized that he wasn't just getting folks through that gate, he was taking personal responsibility for the safety of the folks inside the gate, myself included. He was a shining example of true dedication. Thank you for sharing him with Alcon!
