Robert Dee, as so many knew him, has to be one of the sweetest, kindest, talented and Godly men I have ever had the privilege to know. I think we originally met him when he was working as a sears repairman. Nicest guy ! He will be greatly missed and his wonderful piano playing and singing will echo in the heavens now. I fondly remember him playing at our church, Northside Baptist for the years I served along side my husband. I enjoyed visiting with him and Elsie in there lovely home. He played for special occasions and funerals, always a smile on his face and a sparkle in his eyes. His music always filled my soul with joy every time he would tickle those ivory’s and sing. I never heard a ...cross word from his lips and he and Elsie were always so delightful to be around on any occasion. Lifting up his wife and family in my prayers.Read more

Robert was one of the finest Christian men I've ever known. He was loved by so many. Probably 30 yrs ago, Robert stopped to pick up a woman walking on SE 1st st by Simms Lumber. The guys knew who she was & what she was. Robert didn't. She propositioned him. I wish I could have seen his face. He told the guys he just told her about Jesus & dropped her off.

I grew up listening to Robert Dee and others singing at Salesville Baptist Church. Unfortunately I didn't share the talent but had an appreciation of those who did. My daddy loved to hear Robert Dee sing. He shared his talents with my family in our times of grief and was a good friend. The heavens have a bright new star.
God Bless

There are so many special memories of Robert! I guess the best are when he & Elsie would take Wilma & I home with them after church for lunch & to see farm animals. That was pretty special to us both. I also think ALL the hours Robert spent visiting the nursing homes, singing & playing piano were very special. That was I highlight in my mom's day when there was very little else for her to look forward to. My grandmother loved his song, Heaven, as we all do so was really special when he sang it at her going home service. I know he's singing with the angels in heaven now. To know Robert was to love him. He truly lived each day as a wonderful example of what a Christian is.

I loved Mr Herring!! He serviced a fridge for me probably 40 years ago and struck up a conversation (he never had a problem with that😁). During that conversation he found out that I had graduated with his daughter Rhonda and that started a wonderful, long time relationship. He never failed to visit with me when he saw me and always remembered what had been going on in my life the last time he saw me even if it had been a few years! What a talented, humble, loving man of God! I will miss him sorely!
