Service is 3:30 p.m. Monday in Greenwood Chapel. Interment will be in Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Greenwood.
Sophie was born Dec. 13, 1916, to Joseph Baltrun and Kazimera Linkiewcz in East St. Louis, Ill. She married Stan Zimmerman in 1938. Her life was characterized by her love of God, her gentle, caring and quiet nature, her enjoyment of needlework and love of her family.
Sophie was often heard saying, "Love God, love others well, forgive easily and give thanks to God for everything and praise Him."
Survivors include siblings, Sam Hladyshewsky and wife, Karen, of O Fallon, Ill., and Lu Curtin of St. Louis, Mo.; daughters, Dianne Glen-Walker and husband, William III, of Fort Worth, Vivian Borgeson of Keller, and Deborah Crawford and husband, David, of Mineral Wells; 15 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
Sophie was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Constantine (Stan) Zimmerman; daughter, Connie Blanchard; and grandson, William Glen-Walker IV.
Memorial contributions can be made in Sophie's name to a charity of your choosing.
