Ernest Richard Parsons
October 3, 1946 - May 20, 2020
Ernest Richard Parsons, age 73, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, May 20, 2020. Services will be 2pm Tuesday, May 26th at Edwards Funeral Home in Strawn, TX with burial to be at the New Gordon Cemetery in Gordon, TX. Family and friends will gather 5-7pm Monday at the funeral home. Due to Covid-19 we ask everyone to please wear a mask and practice social distancing.
Ernest was born October 8, 1946 in Mineral Wells to Wilmar Ray Parsons and Margie Conner Parsons. He graduated from Gordon High School and then joined the US Airforce in 1966 and worked as an aircraft mechanic. He was honorably discharged in 1970. He worked in plant operations for Brazos Electric until his retirement. He married Ms. Lorraine Alford Fulkerson, Oct 11, 1997 in Mineral Wells. Ernest loved being outdoors fishing, and arrowhead hunting and was a very good at refinishing furniture. His greatest love though was for his family.
He is survived by his loving wife Lorraine, daughters; April Davis and Aleshia Swinney and husband Steven, sisters; Linda Croft and husband Wayne, and Denise Martinez and husband Rickey and six beautiful grandkids; Cassi, Anthony, Chasity, Brandon, Heath and Ayden. He is also survived by his bonus children; Shane Fulkerson, Bobby Fulkerson and Monte Fulkerson, and bonus grandchildren; Ashley, Bryan and Zack.
Ernest was preceded in death by his parents.

Plant a tree: How does it work
When your purchase is complete, a post will be made on the tribute wall of the deceased signifying the planting of a memorial tree.
An official certificate recognizing your purchase will be included with your email receipt. You can then forward the email to the family or print it and give it to them personally.
After an order is placed, our forestry partners will plant the tree in the area of greatest need (nearest the funeral home), according to the planting schedule for the year.
Due to seasonal conditions, the tree planting takes place during the spring and summer.
Tree Planting Timeline
Orders placed in:
January - May
Planting will take place in Spring or Summer of the same year.
June - December
Planting will take place in Spring of the following year.
