I love you and miss you, Nanny! Oh, to hear other people's stories of how you impacted their life! I fully believe that you have touched many people's lives because you lived a very full dash! You are missed and treasured! I have said goodbye to you many times in the last six years, but I am so grateful that you are with our gracious Heavenly Father and Grandpa. That you are fully ALIVE in Him, with no glasses needed to see, no hearing aids needed to hear, nothing clouding your mind--lucid and thoughtful. I always thought I was a lot like you with my short stature and dark hair, with a spirit for adventures in traveling (even though I never got to go on a trip with you!), with my love for th...e written word, with my intelligence and love for learning. However, In many ways, I was not at all like you--with your sassy ribbing and tongue in cheek jesting that showed how much of a stinker you were! I have no allusions that you were perfect, nor do I wish to hold some kind of glorified misperception that you were something you weren't because you wouldn't have wanted that either. I long to sit down with a cup of coffee with you and a game of hand and foot to chat about where things are going in our country, where and what God wants from His people, and how to love others when you disagree with them (because that is something you were definitely able to do!). I will see you in Heaven (which I know will be sooner than I think since life is but vapor)! Much love! -AprilRead more
