Kenneth Ray Savell
JACKSBORO - Kenneth Ray Savell passed away at his home in Jacksboro, Texas, on Monday, June 5, 2017. He was 63 years old.
Service is 10 a.m. Thursday, June 8, with visitation prior at 9 a.m., at First Baptist Church in Jacksboro. Buria will follow in Cottonwood Cemetery under the direction of Coker Funeral Home.
He was born May 20, 1954, to Ovet Raymond and Mattie Orline (Axtell) Savell in Mineral Wells. Kenneth was baptized at the age of 14. He was a Mineral Wells High School graduate and a proud Tarleton State University graduate with a degree in Accounting, becoming a certified public accountant for Birdwell, Quinn and Co.
Kenneth married Janice Annette Clay on Aug. 2, 1985. He was active in the Jacksboro community serving in the Lion's Club, being on the Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, and faithfully serving in his church at First Baptist Church of Jacksboro. Kenneth loved watching children grow up in the church as well as watching his own grandchildren and other children in sports. Most importantly he was an amazing Christian husband, father, grandfather and friend to so many. Kenneth will be dearly missed.
Among those who will cherish his memory include his wife, Janice Savell, of Jacksboro; mother, Orline Savell; daughters, Jana Amstutz and husband John, of Denton, Lori Favors and husband Walter, of Dallas, and Amy Melton and husband Billy, of Canyon; sister, Vicky Sherley and husband Jim; brother-in-laws, Joe Whittenburg, Tommy Pratt, Melvin Clay Jr. and wife Billie, and Lynn Clay and wife Barbara; grandchildren, Aaron, Jordan, Tanner, Hannah, Emma and Noah; aunt, Elsie Watkins; and many other extended family members and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father; and his sisters, Vonda and Kathy.
