Marvin Leonard Smith
WEATHERFORD - Marvin Leonard Smith, 74, of Weatherford, passed away Friday, July 8, 2016, in a local nursing facility.
Service is 10 a.m. Saturday, July 16, at Galbreaith-Pickard Funeral Chapel with Rev. Curtis Jefferson officiating. Visitation is 6-8 p.m, Friday, July 15,at the funeral home.
Marvin was born Oct. 24, 1941, in Mineral Wells to Gordon and Lola Dillon Smith. He was a retired self-employed truck driver. He loved to fish, play slot machines and watch sports. He especially enjoyed watching his grandchildren's sporting events as well as watching football games with his brothers and sisters.
Survivors include his daughters, Tamra Tinney and husband Larry, and Alisha Evans, all of Weatherford; grandchildren, Kolton, Shawnee, Taylor, Dustin and Tylor; great-grandchildren, Heagan and Kambreigh; siblings, Billie Howard, Patricia Brown, Milton Smith, Jerry Smith, Buford Smith, Debbie Lack, Sherry Robertson, Lorretta Davis, Larry Smith and Melinda Smith; and special friends, Tommy, Dean and Larry Sr.
Marvin was preceded in death by the love of his life, Sandra Sue Smith; son, Shorty; granddaughter, Cheyanna; and his siblings, John Tom, Carl, Loyd and Clyde.
The Smith family would like to thank Hilltop Park Nursing and Rehab for the love and care they gave Marvin during his stay.
